I'm especially well suited to working with helpers and deep feelers—people who tend to hold a lot, live by their values, and carry responsibility with care. Many are the steady ones in their families, workplaces, and communities. They often support others with compassion while quietly carrying stress, grief, uncertainty, or the weight of their own experiences. My role is to offer a place where they no longer have to carry it all alone.
Long before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked in education, international development, and humanitarian aid alongside people navigating loss, transition, trauma, and difficult life circumstances. Working across cultures and continents taught me to listen deeply, stay curious, and remain steady even when life feels uncertain or complex.
Those experiences continue to shape the way I work today. They taught me that people are remarkably resilient, but even the people who appear strongest need a place where they don't have to carry everything alone.
In private practice, I work with people who are thoughtful, caring, and often highly self-aware, yet still find themselves feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. My background allows me to meet complexity with openness and compassion, helping clients explore what's beneath the surface without rushing toward quick answers or simple solutions.
At the heart of my work is a deep respect for the whole person and the values that guide their life. Many of the people I work with care deeply—about the people they love, the work they do, the world around them, and living in a way that feels true to who they are. Whether those values show up through caregiving, creativity, a love of animals, or concern for the environment, they are often central to a person's identity and wellbeing. I believe therapy should honour those values rather than ask people to set them aside.
I believe meaningful therapy begins with feeling genuinely understood. My hope is to create a space where you can slow down, make sense of what you're carrying, reconnect with yourself, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, intentional, and authentically your own.
I'm a dog person. I also am an eternal helping professional and a big fan of slowing down and creatively exploring and experiencing life and one's internal world.
SLOWING DOWN...... my morning ritual with coffee, quiet & stillness, cuddles & walks with my dog Zeebo (fun fact- I'm also trained in canine massage therapy), getting outside & connecting with nature whatever the season.
CALMNESS & GROUNDING....being near or in water... using my quasi- green thumb to try growing things both inside & out, nurturing the meaningful connections in my life.
CURIOUSITY....... off the beaten-track travelling, the thrill of getting lost in new places, trying new, weird & spicy foods, exploring gem stones & their energies, life-long learning.
PLAY, CREATE AND HAVE FUN.....experimenting with photographs, textiles & interior design, playing with the written word, laughs with friends.

I believe learning never ends and I continue to improve myself as a Psychotherapist. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Hakomi method, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Medical Qigong, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Level 1, and Walk and Talk therapy. I am committed to on-going learning and professional development. And last but not least, I am a passionate mental health advocate.

My 20 minute consultation is a chance to talk, feel things out, and understand what working with me could look like. There's no pressure- just a conversation to help you decide if this feels right for you.
